Crispy Teriyaki Beef
Crispy fried beef tossed with sweet teriyaki sauce. The ultimate takeout style dish made at home.

Ingredients
Teriyaki Sauce
- 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Ginger, grated
- 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 TB Mirin
- 1 TB Corn Starch, dissolved in 1 TB of water
Crispy Beef
- 1 pound Flank Steak, cut into thin strips
- 1 cup Corn Starch
- 4 cups Vegetable Oil
- Sesame Seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- To make the teriyaki sauce, combine all ingredients in a medium pot.
- Whisk together over medium-high heat until the sugar is dissolved and the sauce has thickened.
- For the beef, heat the oil in a large pot to 350F.
- Toss the beef in the cornstarch so the strips are evenly coated.
- Shake off any excess cornstarch and fry the beef, working in batches, for about 3 minutes.
- Transfer fried beef to a paper towel lined mixing bowl.
- Once all the beef is fried, remove the paper towels and pour over the teriyaki sauce.
- Toss beef with the sauce and finish with sesame seeds.
