Fried Fish Tacos with Avocado Cilantro Sauce

Crispy fried cod nestled in soft flour tortillas, covered in a creamy avocado sauce with crunchy cabbage and radishes. These tacos are so satisfying.

Ingredients

Fried Cod and Assembly
  • 1 pound of Cod, cut into 1 inch strips
  • 1 cup Beer
  • 1 cup AP Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Flour Tortillas
  • Shredded cabbage, Sliced Radish, Cilantro (to garnish)
Avocado Cilantro Sauce
  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 1 cup Cilantro, packed
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 - 200g container Greek yogurt
  • 2 Limes, juiced and zested
  • 1/2 Jalapeño (optional)
  • 1/3 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt

Instructions

  1. Blend together the avocado cilantro sauce ingredients, set aside.
  2. Bring a large pot of vegetable oil to 350F.
  3. Whisk together beer, flour, salt, egg, and baking powder until a smooth batter forms.
  4. Coat the cod in the batter and lower into the oil.
  5. Fry until golden brown and the fish is cooked (about 5 minutes).
  6. Assemble cod into tortillas and drizzle avocado sauce over. Top with cabbage, radish and cilantro.
