Sesame Chili Oil

  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 5 Garlic Cloves, grated
  • 1 TB Sesame Seeds
  • 1 tsp Ground Szechuan Peppercorns
  • 1/4 cup Szechuan Chili Flakes


  1. Heat oil to 200-250F - any hotter and it will burn the garlic.
  2. Place remaining ingredients in a heat safe bowl.
  3. Pour hot oil in the bowl and mix everything together.
  4. Allow the oil to cool completely then store in a airtight container in the fridge.
